Shine Like the Sun
Basileians.com is a place where three factors converge that make it possible, as Jesus says, for us to "shine like the sun."
- The individual people and corporate expressions of Basileia are engaged in various initiatives of mercy and justice for others and the life of the world. We do this in response to the initiative that the Lord has already taken to seek us out in order to rescue us from what binds us, and release us into the world with gifts of empowerment to fulfill our destiny.
- In response to the Lord’s initiative in our lives as expressed in our charism, we cultivate a Basileian lifestyle.
- Finally, our response to the Lord’s initiative in our lives takes on an outward form as we cultivate, imagine and launch kingdomculture initiatives and communities.
Inwardly and Outwardly
Thus, in response to the Lord’s initiative, we aim to be transformed and “shine like the sun” both inwardly and outwardly. We are transformed inwardly as we walk out the disciplines of our lifestyle. And we express transformation outwardly through the initiatives we start and the communities we build.
It is Jesus who promises that we shall shine like the sun in the kingdom of our Father. (Matthew 13:43). Knowing this enables us to be patient with ourselves, others and even the Lord as we joyfully struggle forward in this high calling.
