Worship that connects heaven and earth is sacramental, scriptural and Spirit-led. Liturgy means “the work of the people.” This implies action, engagement and participation, not just words.
Epic Story: Part 1
Milestone
On the Seventh Sunday of Pascha (Easter), 2014, Basileians joyfully marked a milestone in the process of ratifying Basileia's Constitution. The Basileia Alliance Presbyter Council met in Session on May 31, 2014, and after considering and weighing the input of all, recognized and judged accordingly that Basileia as a whole has now ratified the Constitution. Thanks be to God.
Community
Basileia is an expression of the one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church that has been given a unique kingdomcultural charism, lifestyle and mission.
Our logo portrays Basileia as a city with four horizontal gateways that aim us to the north, south, east and west in the quest to cultivate the Kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven.
Structure
Logo
Basileia's logo is comprised of four gateways arranged in a square to represent the City of God. The logo subtly invokes the image of the Jerusalem cross in a future-ancient way that symbolizes the progressive increase of Christ's Kingdom to the north, south, east and west. It recalls the river that flowed from Eden to water the Garden which parted into four rivers (Gen. 2:10) that then flowed down “the holy mountain of God” (Ezek. 28:14) to the four corners of the earth.
Covenant
Covenant relationships are initiated by the Lord for the purpose of bringing two or more people together as one. A covenant is the fivefold structure of authority that specifies: 1) the source of authority, 2) the delegation of authority, 3) the standards of authority, 4) the transfer of authority, 5) the expansion of authority.
Councils
A council in Scripture is a circle of the Lord's own friends who join Him around a Table to discuss what His Word means and how it should be applied to new situations that no one has ever faced before. When consensus is reached in the the Lord's council, it can be imagined that after the decision is written down by scribes, the Lord then takes his signet ring and stamps the legislation as approved, authorizing its implementation on earth.
Communion
Creed
There are two different conceptions of the Church, creeds and tradition. The One-Source View sees the revelation of the Word through creation, in Scripture and by the Spirit as the sole source of revelation. This gives rise to Christlike forms of kingdomculture. The other, the Two-Source View, regards the Church, creeds and tradition as additional sources of revelation. This gives rise to unchristlike forms of subculture and counterculture.
